Overview
Essential Addons for Elementor is a popular WordPress plugin that extends Elementor with a broad collection of customizable widgets and design elements. It helps website creators build everything from landing pages and portfolios to dynamic content layouts and eCommerce experiences.
I contributed to the product ecosystem by designing 50+ ready-to-use widgets and demo pages, while also working on the WordPress plugin dashboard and marketing website.
My focus was to make individual design elements visually engaging, easy to understand, and flexible enough to support different website-building needs.
The Challenge
A plugin with a large and diverse widget library needs to support many use cases without making the experience feel inconsistent or difficult to navigate.
Each widget must communicate its purpose clearly, offer a useful visual starting point, and provide enough flexibility for users to adapt it to their own websites.
At the same time, the plugin dashboard and marketing website need to communicate product value, showcase capabilities, and maintain a consistent visual identity.
The key challenge was to create a cohesive design experience across individual widgets, demo pages, the plugin dashboard, and the marketing website while supporting a wide range of user needs.
Design Approach
I focused on three key principles:
Make every widget useful and intuitive
Designed widgets with clear content hierarchy, purposeful layouts, and visual treatments that help users understand how each element can be used on their websites.
Balance flexibility with consistency
Explored different widget styles and demo layouts while maintaining consistent typography, spacing, visual hierarchy, and interaction patterns across the product.
Connect product design with marketing
Worked across the plugin dashboard and marketing website to help present the product as a cohesive experience, making its capabilities easier to explore and understand.
My Role
I worked across different parts of the Essential Addons product ecosystem:
- UI/UX design for the WordPress plugin dashboard
- Design widgets and demo pages
- Widget layouts and visual variations
- High-fidelity interface design
- Marketing website UI and visual design
- Typography, spacing, color, and visual hierarchy
- Reusable design patterns and component consistency
- Responsive layout considerations
- Collaboration with product and development teams

Design System & Consistency
Working across dozens of widgets and multiple product touchpoints required a consistent visual foundation.
I focused on reusable layout patterns, typography, spacing, color usage, and component styling to maintain a cohesive experience across the widget library, dashboard, demo pages, and marketing website.
At the same time, each widget needed enough visual individuality to serve its specific purpose rather than feeling like a repeated template.
This balance between consistency and variety was an important part of designing for a growing product ecosystem.
Outcome
My contribution supported the design and presentation of Essential Addons across its widget library, demo pages, plugin dashboard, and marketing website.
Designing 50+ widgets and demo pages gave me hands-on experience in building scalable UI patterns, creating flexible website components, and maintaining design consistency across a large WordPress product ecosystem.
The project strengthened my experience in product design, plugin interfaces, reusable components, design systems, and the relationship between product functionality and marketing presentation.
